BTST192 is Sacramento metalcore band CATHERINE!
Man oh man it feels good to finally get this off my chest! His has been in the making for over a year now! And finally it’s here for you all to enjoy.
Catherine was an underdog metalcore band that formed in Sacramento in 2004 and disbanded in 2009 due to exhaustion, the death of 2 members and rotating members by the time they released their third album there was only 1 originally member left. There was a dark cloud over the band that I think hindered them the success they deserved! Catherine played a form of metalcore that really stood out to me. It was melodic, it was heavy, it was emotional. Bryan’s vocals were the most stand out part of Catherine. They were unique in sound, very identifiable with his hollow sounding lows and his highs that were just the right pitch. Rob and Jesse’s guitars were intricate, well thought out riffs that laid the foundation for the songs. Julio’s drummer is precise and heavy when need be! Bass was done by Andrew and it’s the cherry ontop, very crunchy and made the heavy even heavier.
This release is of their debut EP A Call To Entropy. This was a self released album they put out and the EP that caught the attention of Rise Records who later put out their 3 albums. This is Catherine at their rawest. Originally released in a paper sleeve these long OOP CD’s are finally back for you guys to enjoy after 20 years. I get requests and so do the band all the time to make this happen so here it is! The EP that started it all for them! 6 songs of blistering metalcore from California.
Artwork done by Keith Carlson, that’s right we got him out of retirement for this one haha we wanted to keep the OG vibe intact but give the artwork a 2026 facelift. It’s gritty yet pretty just like the OG artwork.
