Well what can I say about this drop? Changed gears for a second but I couldn’t say no to this opportunity to release one of my top 10 favourite bands! The one and only Boys Night Out! If you had asked me in 2006 if I’d release a BNO album in my lifetime I would have LMAO’d all over the place.
No, it’s not a deathcore release and it’s even debatable to say it was MySpace era since they formed in 2001. Their biggest release was Make Yourself Sick which was their first album via Ferret Records which threw them into popularity and tons of MySpace profiles had the song “Hold On Tightly, Let Go Lightly”, so I guess that counts right?
One of the best bands to come out of Canada in the post hardcore/emo era! I remember hearing them back in 2003 when their EP “Broken Bones & Bloody Kisses” came out and I fell in love with the whole album! The song “Victor VS The Victim” still gets my heart rate up 17 years later. Then I caught them at the 2005 Warped Tour right when “Trainwreck”dropped and had Connor sign my cover after the set. A band that I collect everything I can from. A band I can put their albums on and just wiz through the whole thing without skipping a song.
This album contains their long OOP and super rare demo EP “You Are My Canvas” as well as their EP “Broken Bones” and a few demo songs!
If you’ve been under a rock and don’t know who BNO is & if you’re a fan of the mid 2000’s post hardcore/emo scene you’ll dig this! FFO: Silverstein, Emery, FFTL, and the like!
