BTST072 is PA’s heavyweights BRING THE HEAT.
These guys, as most of the bands I do, didn’t have a long shelf life. They dropped a demo and an EP titled Reality Check. BTG played heavy, slow, down tuned stuff like early The Acacia Strain with just as punishing breakdowns. Very tough guy, fuck you attitude. FFO: Destruction of A King, Her Demise My Rise, Above This.
This release will see both the Demo and the Reality Check EP in one complete knuckle busting package! Limited to 75 hand numbered copies.
Artwork was done by Keith and photography was done by yours truly! If you’re familiar with the OG artwork for Reality Check, you’ll see why I chose the art that’s here. These are staples of the downtown scenery in my city of Windsor, Ontario. I wanted a desolate feel to them like the original art had but with more grit and depression. The OG art looked lonely but well kept, i wanted to show some of the places here that are dirty and gritty. The stories behind most of the pictures are what sets the more extremeness from the original. The abandoned houses have been empty for over 10 years where’re the government was going to build a bridge there and they kicked everyone out and then didn’t make the bridge so these houses sit rotting block by block. The bridge is The Ambassador Bridge that leads into poverty ridden Detroit and if it wasn’t for this bridge, my city of Windsor would be a total waste. Some business buildings downtown Windsor which hold people with good jobs but down below on the streets is riddled with homeless people shooting up meth right on the street.
So, you can see why I choose these pictures and what I was really aiming for. Tough guy music, people who’s been through a lot to get where they are today as people. Cities like mine that will either make you a strong person or chew and spit you out, which is exactly what this record does.
