“Meat is meat and a mans gotta eat”- Vincent Smith
So looks like BTST022 will not only upset the weak, but also be one of the heaviest bands released thus far! The punch to the neck that never stops that is CORCID!
The first time I heard their full length album The Demoralizing Process I thought “wow this was heavy”. This record is a non stop assault to the ears that doesn’t let up at all. It feels like you’re fighting your way out of quicksand but it ain’t going well for ya. Thankfully the band cares a bit about your well being and figured you’d need a break mid album with a nice calm interlude, without It I don’t think we’d survive.
My favourite part of this whole album is Bryton’s vocals, his midrange is great but when he decides to do his gutturals, man do those hit you hard on top of the constant 200mph drumming(which is my second favourite instrument on the record). The drummer Blake takes you by the throat, lifts you up and constantly punches you square in the nose for 40 minutes. The dude doesn’t let up! The cherry on top are the the guitarist and bassist who weave in and out together with pure heaviness. Tuned to just the right note to make sure you’re speakers blow when listening at high volumes.
This release will not only see their full length The Demoralizing Process(fun tip:originally pressed by Mannequin Rein who’s owner prints BTST’s merch!) but this will also have 6 demo songs from their catalog! A full Corcid discography perfectly titled “Dissonant Prayers: The Compete Corcid Recordings”
