Sound familiar or not at all? Either way you must know this is a pre Design The Skyline band! That’s right, this was the band they were in before the name change!
ELK is a perfect blend of deathcore/crabcore and even mathcore, giving us harsh noise with moments of ease to not overkill us with brutality. These guys were a staple in the scene, wether it was good or bad exposure, they were known by everyone. They received a lot of flac for their overly scene looks and style of music they played which was unfortunate. I think as time went on these guys gained a more solid fan base that supported them. I remember watching the video for their Victory Records single Surrounded By Silence and thinking it was one of the coolest sounds. One second it’s the heaviest breakdown ever with gutterals that were so brutal to a crabcore synth heavy dance part. These guys are as chaotic as they come and it still holds up to this day. It’s raw, it’s angry, it’s pure scene core and I know we’re all here for it.
This release is their debut EP titled Galactical Celebration which came out in 2007 when they were still in high school! 6 songs of pure chaotic fury!
For artwork we wanted to keep the whole bright colours, squid and lightening them in tact that everyone fell in love with in the beginning. Cam took it upon himself to whip up what you see here. Not one correction had to be made, he nailed it completely.
